RIVERS STATE GOVERNMENT TO EMPLOY DOCTORS 

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that the State Government will employ young Rivers doctors to work at new medical facilities that will come on stream this year.

Speaking during a meeting with House Officers of the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital at the Government House Port Harcourt on Monday, Governor Wike assured the house officers that they would be retained after their internship.

 

The Wike administration will complete the Mother and Child Hospital, Bori General Hospital, Degema Zonal Hospital And  Okehi Zonal Hospital  this year.

 

He said: “We must start employing our doctors  after they complete  their internship.  This has nothing to  do with  the economy. 

 

“I thank God that  we have this opportunity  to employ you after your internship “.

 

The governor stated that his administration will assist the house officers to carry out their voluntary medical outreach to less privileged persons. 

 

Governor Wike said that the Rivers State Government  will continue to invest in healthcare programmes as a means to building  the health infrastructure of the state. 

 

The governor thanked the house officers for coming forward to appreciate him for approving and funding their internship. 

 

Leader of the House Officers of the Braithwaite Memorial Specialist Hospital, Dr Woha Boobondah thanked the Rivers State Governor for giving them  the opportunity  for their internship. 

 

He solicited  the support of Governor Wike for the medical outreach programme  to be carried  out by the House Officers. 

 

“The purpose of coming here is to show appreciation to Governor Wike for his developmental strides and the opportunity for us to embark on our internship.  

 

 

“We appreciate him because  it was difficult for  most of us to be accepted  for internship “, he said.

Governor Wike assures Emohua people of sustained welfare

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike  has assured the people of Emohua Local Government Area that their welfare will continue to receive priority attention, just as the roll out of projects will be sustained in the area. 

The governor  on Friday  distributed 2100 bags of rice and 4200 pieces of wrapper to PDP  members at Isiodo in Emohua Local Government Area. 

The gifts form part of the Rivers State Governor’s  Christmas and New Year reach out to PDP members  in the  23 Local Government Areas of the state. 

Chief of Staff to the Rivers State Governor, Engr Chukwuemeka Woke said  that the people of the  area are happy with the governor  because he has showered them with projects.

He said that Governor Wike will win  the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State during  the 2019 General Elections .

Engr Chukwuemeka Woke also called on Emohua people to remain  steadfast in their support for Governor Wike .

Chairman of Ikwerre Chiefs and Elders Forum, Prince Paul Wonodi said the Rivers State Governor believes in the empowerment  of the people.

He said that  the 2018 Rivers State Budget has been tailored to  empower the  pepple and  enhance  their standard of living. 

PDP South-South Zonal Financial Secretary, Hon Justina Emeji commended Governor Wike for recognising women in his extension of Christmas gifts across the state. 

Special Adviser to the  Rivers State Governor on Politics and Strategy, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh and the  member representing Emohua State Constituency, Mr Sam Ogeh thanked the Rivers State Governor for  his commitment  to the welfare of the people. 

Our administration has the backing of the people –Governor Wike

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike has stated that all the evil machinations of the APC Federal Government ahead  of 2019 will fail because his  administration has the backing of the people.

Speaking during a solidarity visit by  the New Rivers Lawyers Initiative at the Government House Port Harcourt on Tuesday, Governor Wike urged Rivers people  to remain vigilant  as the  country heads to 2019.

He said: “We must preprare for 2019. What is good is that we have not abandoned our people, who are our strength. 

“The agents of the APC Federal Government will come with guns and security, but they will fail.  They came with guns  and  security during  the rerun, but our people were vigilant.

“They have nothing to tell our people to convince them to follow the APC. As we head to 2019, they will form activity  in Ogoniland  and other communities, flagging off fake projects. But our people will not be deceived “.

He said that unlike other governors, he will never negotiate away  the future of Rivers State with the Federal Government, noting that he will always stand with the people.

Commenting on the role that the New Rivers Lawyers Initiative played in the emergence of his administration, Governor Wike lauded them  for galvanizing support for him at a time many groups doubted the destination. 

He said that he is running a pro-people administration which will remain focused despite  the attempts to distract the state government by the Federal Government. 

In his remarks, the Coordinator of New Rivers Lawyers Initiative, Barrister Bethel Kejeh said that the group has endorsed the Rivers State Governor to seek a second term in office . 

He said that the New Rivers Lawyers Initiative will work hard to mobilise Rivers people  to vote  for the governor because he has improved the state since 2015.

Barrister Kejeh said that Governor Wike has made Rivers lawyers proud by keeping  his campaign promises despite the economic downturn.
