Ahead of the opening match of Nigeria Professional Football League season on Sunday, the Kwara United Football Club on Thursday unveiled seventeen players recently recruited by the Club.
At the unveiling ceremony held at the Sports Council Conference Room, Ilorin, the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed charged the players and technical crew to take up the responsibility with utmost seriousness.
Represented by the State Commissioner for Sports and Youths Development, Alhaji Bolakale Ayo, Governor Ahmed advised the players to see their recruitment as win-win situation to develop themselves and further promote the Club.
Governor Ahmed assured them of conducive atmosphere with a view to ensuring the success of the Club in the new season.
In his remarks, the Chairman, Kwara United Football Club, Prince Oladimeji Thompson said the Club is ready to prosecute the league to the administration of football stakeholders in the state.
Prince Thompson called on stakeholders in the state to explore enormous benefits in the round leather game.
He appealed to residents of the state to put aside differences and work collectively for the progress of team.
Prince Thompson thanked the State Governor, Alhaji Abdulfatah Ahmed for the support giving to the team at all times.
Various speakers at the occasion appealed to the players, technical crew and supporters club to comport themselves well in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
The newly signed players include Babangida Ibrahim, attacker from Nasarawa United, Chima Kingsley Uluocha, a midfielder from Abia Warriors, Chinedu Sunday Chukwu, defender from Abia Comet, Kayode Agboola, attacker from Shooting Stars, Mudashir Olamide, Kwara United Feeders and Musa Abdulateef, attacker Adamawa United.
