Butfor the patriotic stand of the PDP National Chairmanship aspirant Prince Uche Secondus what is seen today as a viable opposition party, the People’s Democratic Party PDP would have been demised.
The National Organizing Secretary of the National Caretaker Committee Sen.. Ningi who disclosed this at the Party National Secretariat in Abuja when he received Prince Secondus nomination form said that it was his patriotic stand that provided the Supreme Court the grounds to throw away Al Modu Sheriff.
Sen. Ningi recalled that Sheriff had prevailed on Secondus to leave the National Convention venue when he was also leaving so as to frustrate it but Secondus refused saying that he intended to follow the constitution of the party.
Secondus staying behind to preside over the convention gave it the legitimacy that the Supreme Court relied on to dismiss Sheriff and his gang and return the party to its true owners.
He said that at this time in the life of the party, what it requires is experienced and patriotic leaders whose commitment and faith in the party should not be in doubt.
Sen. Ningi said that having served this great party at various levels from inception, Secondus would be a square peg in a square hole if the delegates of the party found him worthy.
